The essential steps

Step 1: Prep your hair. You should wash your hair and let it dry completely. Wet hair creates a perfect environment for bacteria to grow, especially under the lace frontal. So before sewing in the frontal, make sure your hair is clean and dry.

Step 2: Braid your hair into a cornrow. You can go for whatever style of cornrow you want as long as it stays close to the scalp and appears as flat as possible. The flatter the cornrow is, the better it lays underneath the lace frontal.

Step 3: For the cornrows that stick out, flip it to lay flat on the head and sew the part in by using thread and needle. Put the needle to both the embroidered hair and the cornrow on your head, wrap the thread twice around the needle to secure the hair part. Repeat several times until the piece is secured, then cut the thread.

Step 4: this is optional. If you use a hair net, sew it in the cornrow with the same technique. Make sure that the net, or cap lay flat over your head. There should be no lumps or bumps.

Step 5: Place the lace frontal on your head. Sew one side of the frontal down behind your ear. Once you have done on the side, pull the frontal to the opposite side as tightly as you can to make it lay flat. Sew the back portion of the frontal to the hair net or your cornrow (if you don’t wear hair net). Sew all the way until you reach the other side

Step 6: Take a scissor and cut the excess lace patch. Pull some hair down and brush the baby hair to cover the lace.
